Get ready for a night of non-stop laughter at the next Wollongong Comedy showcase at The Builders Club!

September’s show is one of the finest lineups we have assembled yet!  Headlined by comedy veteran Steven J Whitely with breakthrough stars Daniel Muggleton and Lauren Bonner all brought together with the hilarious MC comedy stylings of John Peacock, make sure you get a good seat for this cracking show!

Steven J Whiteley began performing comedy as a hobby over twenty years ago, and transitioned to being a professional full time comedian in 2013. He has performed across Australia, headlining & MCing with his unique style of observational & musical comedy, and true-life story telling. His down-to-earth take on everyday life resonates with audiences everywhere.  Quite simply - he’s short (about 5’6”), sharp and highly relatable. He’s not to be missed.

Daniel Muggleton is an Australian comedian in a tracksuit. He’s won awards, received 5 star reviews and sold-out shows around the world, including at The Sydney Opera House. His live shows have resulted in three acclaimed stand-up specials, his debut ‘Let’s Never Hang Out’ aired on ABC Australia in 2019, ‘Unprecedented’ in 2021, and his latest ‘White & Wrong’ was released by 800 Pound Gorilla Media in 2024. Daniel was chosen to perform at Just For Laughs Sydney in 2023, and has also appeared on The Checkout (ABC) & The Feed (SBS). He’s been hand-picked to support Jim Jefferies, Steve Hofstetter & Russell Kane on tour, clips of his stand-up have been viewed over 20 million times on social media and he’s the co-host of hit Australian podcast Flog Cabin.

Daniel owns 14 tracksuits, 8 of them red – and yes, he washes them regularly.

Lauren Bonner regularly headlines at comedy clubs across the country and has toured solo shows to all the major comedy festivals in Australia. In 2023 she filmed a new US television comedy ‘While You Were Breeding’ alongside Cat Cohen. You might have heard her on triple j, on her podcast 'Big Natural Talents' with Concetta Caristo or seen her on the ABC, Stan or wandering around the shops with a big iced coffee.

In 2012, John Peacock was carpet cleaner of the year. Now he’s a middle aged man with a bee in his bonnet and several mental health issues. A deep thinker with social anxiety and middle age spread. He may also be gluten intolerant. In 2015 aged 44, John Peacock worked out what he wanted to do when he grew up. Unfortunately he is yet to grow up and remains largely unfulfilled.

John Peacock is one of the bright, young, things (yeah righto shut up) of Northern Rivers Comedy. John is a stand up comedian with an impressive performance history at comedy festivals around the country. He has performed Internationally in Singapore, Sweden and at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He is an experienced MC, award winning public speaker, monthly columnist and enduring anchor of The Brekky Banter on the iconic Byron Bay FM.

Founder of The Comedy Commune and promoter of sell out gigs locally and interstate. John is a modern day Man for All Seasons. Except for Summer which he finds a bit too hot and sweaty.

Shows over 18 only!

This show is named after a song by The Streets called ‘Blinded by the Lights’ about taking ecstasy in a British nightclub. Muggleton’s not saying watching him do comedy will feel that good, but the comedown is much smoother, and tracksuits are still appropriate attire.

Australian comedy’s foul-mouthed prophet has had a big 2023 with his first international tour, an appearance at Just For Laughs and a headline show at Sydney Opera House. Come see why Daniel Muggleton’s mix of bracing social commentary and electric crowd work have made him one of comedy’s rising stars!

"If you’re easily offended he will make a meal of you." ★★★★★ The Advertiser "Will have you laughing & then hating yourself for it" ★★★★ HiFi

Daniel’s stand-up shows frequently sell-out at comedy festivals around the world, in addition to receiving numerous 5 star reviews and awards. He’s been hand-picked to support Jim Jefferies, Steve Hofstetter & Russell Kane on tour and clips of his jokes frequently go viral on social media having amassed over 25 million views.
